News on the street is that Access bank and Diamond bank are in acquisition talks which is expected to materialise in a few months from now.

According to The Nation, "It was gathered that both financial institutions have reached an agreement in broad terms on the acquisition. What is left is the valuation of assets, with a view to determining the level of compensation and systems’ integration, the sources said, pleading not to be named because they are not allowed to talk to the media on the matter.

It was learnt that the development leading to the impending acquisition was triggered by Diamond Bank directors who approached Access Bank for intervention in a bid to stave off a possible regulatory intervention that could lead to the withdrawal of the lender’s operating licence in the light of the bank’s depleting capital adequacy ratio on account of a huge Non Performing Loans (NPLs) portfolio put at over N150billion. Both banks have since denied the story.

Crime, bloodshed, jungle justice a problem in our society.

After the incident of Aluu 4 we thought that people will learn to do the right thing by handing "criminals" to the police and let the law take its course but there are fresh reports of yet another community jungle justice.

A young man from ibinta village ,okigwe local government of imo state is reported to have been alledgedlly beaten to death by his family.

Victim

According to the annonymous reporter who shared this with famous Facebook personality and blogger, Amanda Chisom, the young man whose death was masterminded by his parents was brutally beaten untill he gave up. His parents had accused of trying to kill them with a knife and instead of reporting to the police they arranged people to beat him up.

The reporter claims that the incident has been swept under the carpet as threats are being issued to anyone who attempts to bring his death to light.

Post below...

Details of his death remains sketchy as we are yet to identify the victim and his family name. Quite sad!

People get frustrated out of work and it affects them for the rest of their lives
Whether we call it office politics orwork place victimisation the truth is that it is unhealthy and must be discouraged from top - down.

Company owners, managers and recruiters who should not encourage such within their organisation are (unfortunately) the spearheads.

Most of us have experienced this but Mfon Abia seems to have bottled this up long enough and decides to share her story.

The lady took to her linkedin page to encourage others by narrating her own experiences. Her post escalated into calling out her former superior who alledgely schemed her out of work at Mobil . See her post below...

Her post which generated over 1k likes and 400 comments in one week, received tons of accolades and support. also, served as a platform for others to speak up including a lady, Identified as Chioma Onyema called out one Felix Chiazor for abusing her verbally and psychologically.

See reactions below...

People endure all sort of abuse at their place of work but remain silent for fear of losing their jobs and as a result of the unemployment / poor economic situation of the country but social media has amplified our voices, helping to uncover socieyal ills and improving lives. People must learn to treat others with respect because you never know...
