All three Passport Control Officers in Lagos have been redeployed by the Acting Comptroller General of Immigration, Idris Jere who had earlier gone on mistery shopping across the passport offices in Lagos State where he uncovered corrupt practices by officers of the Nigeria Immigration Service.
As a result of the CGs experience and findings, the erring officers were made to face disciplinary actions while all the Passport Control Officers across the state get redeployed to the state zonal Command at Ikeja.
As confirmed by the Assistant Comptroller-General in charge of Zone A command, Ikeja, Oluremi Talabi, the three affected officers are Ibrahim Liman, the PCO of Ikoyi Passport Office, Adeola Adesokan, the PCO of Festac Passport office, and NJ Dashe.
The new PCOs expected to take over the passport offices in Lagos are A.O Bawaji, RL Bukar and U S Umar.
According to Deputy Comptroller AB Yerima (Human Resources), in a statement on behalf of the Acting CG, this reshuffling is with immediate effect.
