Pectoral injury has forced Serena Williams to pull out of French Open ahead of clash with Maria Sharapova in fourth round.
The 36 year old American held a press conference where she explained that she was unable to serve citing her injury.
“Unfortunately I’ve been having some issues with my pectoral muscle…” she said.
Serena's withdrawal has caused Maria Sharapova to move to quarter-finals after beating in 19 out of 21 encounters and 18 times in a row.
This would be her first outing in 16 months after childbirth.
