5 Best and Worst Customer Service in Nigerian (Commercial)Banking Sector
Monday, 26th/March/2018
You cannot afford to have an inexperienced person represent your organisation at the point of entry. From the security guard at the gate to the front desk/receptionist all the way to the secretary, across all staff members, organisations must ensure to be well represented.
The Nigerian banking sector is a clear leading sector in terms of innovation and performance for obvious reasons. They are entrusted with so much and of course, to whom much is given, much is expected. I mean... if I have my money domiciled at your bank the least I would expect is a professionalism and this starts the customer service unit.
A good number of banks have quite impressive and courteous client facing staff while some others are quite horrible.
I mean, how can staff be seated on the table in the mail room eating eba and egusi soup? How can a receptionist at a bank's head office be playing on her phone while attending to a guest? Talk about the ones that call you with a telemarketing script and cannot answer any question outside their script. Smh...I can go on and on. From the long queues in the banking halls, to customers being ignored etc...
Based on personal experiences and popular opinion, here are the 5 best and worst customer service among Nigerian commercial banks.
5 BEST
1. Zenith Bank
2. U.B.A
3. First Bank
4. Guaranty Trust Bank
5. Access Bank
No wonder they are among the first tier banks....
5 Worst
1. Stanbic IBTC
2. Diamond Bank
3. Fidelity Bank
4. Eco Bank
5. SkyeBank
These banks have a lot of work to do. Try mystery shopping, hidden camera etc. You just have to do better!
