You're old now and you can't change your fate so you try to appear holier than thou and paint us black
By- Adebayo Hammed
The way the older generation (anybody born before 1975) are going
about this charade of calling our generation lazy and not hardworking is
bizarre. They try to make us the problem and forget they are the problem. They
say we are science students, we take tramadol, etc
But lemme tell them this, we weren't the ones who went abroad on
government scholarships, we weren't the ones who ate Full chicken in school and
drank milk. We never saw a Nigeria flowing with milk and honey because they
concerned themselves with eating and not thinking. Every old man/woman
everywhere would tell a young person there's no job, that we are lazy and
should become entrepreneurs, I understand the whole narrative of creating jobs
blah blah blah
But excuse me Sir and Ma. You've been gainfully employed as a government worker since the 80's how many jobs have you created, how many
business did you venture into, it's funny how kettle calls the pot black.
You all are scared to retire into misery, and carry placards for
unpaid pension. So you changed your date of birth and fight for elongated stay
in public service thereby giving less room to young, vibrant, able bodied men
to take up offices and move the country forward.
You said I should start a company, but excuse me Sir and Ma, how many
companies did you start when you left University and got a house and a nice
"Tortoise Car". How many land did you buy when there was bumper
harvest during the days of the oil boom? Were you not buying wigs and
dancing to James brown "feel good" doing "lagos night
life". Your generation are the ones in the Senate looting away our future
but you're more concerned with us having tattoos and dreadlocks. Your
generation are the ones in the Senate looting away our future but you're more
concerned with us having tattoos and dreadlocks. Your generation failed itself
and voila!!! It's time to blame the youth for moral decadence.. must I remind
you of your rapacious culture?
Was it not your generation that instead of investing money you rather
change new notes and spray musicians at parties and you complain that the
younger generation lust after money, was it not your generation that
prioritized ill-gotten wealth over hard earned salary? Who went to America to start credit card
scam? Was it the Yahoo boys of today. Who went to Italy to prostitute and
demean the Nigerian woman, was it the slay mama of today.
I can go on and on, but I get it.
You're old now and you can't change your fate so you try to appear
holier than thou and paint us black with a paint brush from Vincent Van Gogh and
probably cut our ears off with your sharp criticism.
All we are today is what you made us, and all we are not is your
fault. Education is bad, is it my generation that wrote WAEC in the 2000's that
are handling educational policies? Abi is it not your generation that is asking
for 5 round of sex to pass a student? How many of my pharmacist friends
has license to import tramadol? We pray that God deliver us from the shackles
you put on us by the years you wasted doing things that hurt our future. We
know you people want to render us useless so we won't take charge but we will
very soon.
And to my generation "osha pran pran" people. Let's get
sense as we are already following the path of failure. Let's do right and the
future would be bright.
In the history of Nigeria we have more entrepreneurs in our generation
than the whole generations in Nigeria from it's inception ( don't ask where I
got my data from ). Let's take
our trade out of Nigeria. Let's be the commercial hub of Africa.
Let's enlarge our coast, lets get client from west Africa for a start
and conquer Africa as a whole. We are The Business Generation and we Shall
Succeed.
Have a Great Day
