In the last couple of years, Umulogho has been experiencing developmental setbacks and infrastructural deficiency across-board.
A visit to Okenalogho Secondary Technical School has exposed the level of infrastructural decay within Okenalogho community (Umuokeh/Umulogho). The school that was once the envy of many communities within and outside its borders is now a haven for criminals and criminal activities. Okenalogho Secondary Technical School is now a shadow of itself and on the verge of total collapse.
The technical college is situated by the major road, at the heart of Okenalogho (Umuokeh/Umulogho). At the moment, the school where high percentage of Okenalogho citizens are expected to acquire secondary education is an eyesore to travelers heading to Umuahia (Abia State) from Imo State and a death trap to students and teachers. The school that was once the envy of many communities within and outside its borders is now a haven for criminals and criminal activities.
The pitiable condition of the WAEC hall with a sitting capacity of about 500-600 students surrounded by bushes, broken walls and damaged leaking roofs, fragile rumbles, over grown grasses, dangling wood frames etc. The entire school building is sinking to the ground.
Pictures from Okenalogho Secondary Technical School in Obowo, Imo State....
It is unimaginable that people of the community learn under these conditions especially now that the rainy season is at its peak. whether we like it or not, this is going to affect academic success of the students and the community at large and it is unacceptable!
The current state of infrastructures across the Okenalogho community is a big shame.
I want to draw the attention of the Honorable Member representing Okigwe South in the Federal House of Rep Hon. Deacon Chike Okafor, the Obowo State Constituency Member Barr. Kennedy Ibe and other well meaning members of Okenalogho community to the deplorable state of Okenalogho Secondary Technical School and urge them to consider the students and teachers as well as the entire community and revive this once great institution before it goes into extinction.
